Temporary full-time (up to 14 months)

 

Qualifications

 

Ability, Experience, and Skills for this position include (but not limited to):

  • Minimum four (4) year university degree in the area of social work, health, or psychology
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working in mental health and/or addictions
  • Registration and good standing with a professional regulatory college
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community organizations and resources
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of harm reduction, abstinence-based models, addiction assessment/screening tools, and treatment approaches
  • Demonstrated knowledge of addiction supportive housing models and intensive addiction case management
  • Knowledge of current opioid issues including risks, overdose prevention and opioid replacement therapy
  • Demonstrated competence working in an independent and flexible manner in a community-based setting
  • Experience using Electronic Health Record systems
  • Proficiency using Microsoft office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong time management and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with presentation skills
  • Must be reliable and have a good attendance record
  • Oral and written proficiency in both official languages is an asset
  • Requires a valid “G” Ontario Driver’s Licence and use of a reliable vehicle
  • A current Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) with satisfactory clearance is a condition of employment, at own expense
