Dog biting in Blind River

Mon, Feb 01, 2016

Algoma Public Health is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a dog involved in a recent biting incident.

The incident occurred on Friday, January 29 around 8:00 am outside of the Tim Horton’s restaurant located in Blind River. The dog is described as a large beige dog (possibly an Irish Wolfhound). The owner (female) left with the dog in a red Sport Utility Vehicle.

The information on the dog is needed to complete the public health rabies investigation. If you are the owner or know the owner of this red vehicle please contact Algoma Public Health at 705-356-2551.

Verification is needed to ensure that the dog is alive and healthy and that it is safe for the owner to keep the dog at home.

At this time Algoma Public Health would like to remind everyone to ensure that pets receive annual rabies vaccination and are kept safe and under control at all times.
