Walk-ins welcome at GFL Memorial Gardens clinics

Mon, Aug 09, 2021

With over 82% of residents aged 12 and over in Algoma having received their first dose of a COVID-19 and 73.5% having receiving received their second dose, there is still plenty of vaccine available for those in our community who are ready to get their first vaccine or to finish their vaccine series.

Moving forward, all clinics scheduled for the month of August at the GFL Memorial Gardens will be welcoming walk-ins, in addition to scheduled appointments, for a first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.  Please ensure your second dose is 28 days after you received your first dose.

As mass immunization clinics at GFL wind down, pop-up clinics will start taking place in Sault Ste. Marie and throughout Algoma, making it easier for residents to get immunized by reducing barriers to booking and accessing a COVID-19 vaccine. These pop-up clinics will be advertised in each community and can also be found on the APH website.

Being fully immunized with two doses of a COVID-19 vaccination provides the best protection against COVID-19 and its variants. With the Delta variant being the most dominant strain of COVID-19 in Ontario, as well as more dangerous and easily transmissible, there has never been a more important time to get fully vaccinated to protect yourself and our community.

If you have questions about the COVID-19 vaccines, visit our website for frequently asked questions.  In addition, our clinics are staffed with healthcare professionals who can answer your questions.
