Let’s shine a light on those who make our community healthier

Tue, Feb 14, 2023

Algoma Public Health is calling on residents to nominate local citizens and organizations in Algoma for the 2022 Public Health Champion Award.

Do you know an individual or an organization that is making a positive difference in our communities? Is their passion rooted in helping our community live a healthier life, regardless of age, income, or socio-economic background? They may be our next Public Health Champion.

Help us recognize the extraordinary achievements of two fellow champions for public health.

A Public Health Champion might be an individual or organization that:

  • Makes a difference by working with local government to make positive changes in the community.
  • Brings together community partners to work together to improve the overall health of the population in Algoma.
  • Empowers groups within the community and helps build equal opportunities for priority populations to attain their full health potential.
