More COVID vaccination appointments available to help you get protected before the holiday season
Tue, Nov 22, 2022
As we head into the holiday season, Algoma Public Health and the Huron Shores Family Health Team have opened up more opportunities for eligible individuals to receive their next COVID-19 booster dose. It can take up to two weeks for the vaccine to take effect and by booking your appointment today it ensures that you are fully protected in time for the holiday season.
“Staying up to date with your COVID-19 vaccine series by getting a booster dose remains a simple and critical layer of protection to stay healthy this holiday season,” said Dr. John Tuinema, Acting Medical Officer of Health Algoma Public Health. “Booster doses are recommended because over time, protection from COVID-19 vaccines decrease. A booster reminds your immune system how to protect itself and improves your protection against COVID-19, reducing your risk of severe illness or hospitalization if you do get infected.”
