Public assistance required in finding a dog in Elliot Lake

Wed, Jul 05, 2017

Algoma Public Health (APH) is requesting the public’s help in locating a dog involved in a biting incident in Elliot Lake.

On Monday July 3, 2017 around 2:30 pm, a little boy was bitten at the Paris Street Playground in Elliot Lake. The dog is described as black and brown, medium-sized.

To ensure the child bitten is not at risk for rabies, APH needs to see the dog to ensure it is alive and healthy and that the owner can isolate the dog safely at home. If you observed this incident or are the owner of this dog please contact Algoma Public Health at 705-848-2314, ext. 4009.

APH would like to remind the public to make sure your pet is vaccinated against rabies and to keep your pet safe and in control at all times. In addition, teach your children not to approach strange animals (including dogs or wild animals).
