Public Health Champion(s) Awarded

Shining a light on those who make our community healthier.

At Algoma Public Health’s March 22nd Board of Health Meeting, this year’s Public Health Champion were awarded to Connie Raynor-Elliott (Save Our Young Adults), and Harvest Algoma.

A Public Health Champion is anyone who helps to protect and promote community health and advance health equity in Algoma, whether through leading, collaborating, innovating, or fostering opportunities for health for all, together.

A committee made up of Board of Health Members, APH staff, and the office of the Medical Officer of Health reviewed all nominations. We want to sincerely thank all those who were nominated, and the tireless effort and sacrifice in giving back to our community.
