Algoma Public Health is reporting a new COVID-19 case in a person in the Algoma district and declaring a COVID-19 outbreak at the F.J. Davey Home.

  • Unknown exposure is evidence of ongoing community spread in Sault Ste. Marie & Area 


  • All Algoma residents must continue to practice physical distancing because any close contact could be a possible exposure

  • Indoor private gatherings are limited to 10 people or less by law.


  • Masks or face coverings must be worn in all indoor public places in Algoma and they should also be worn in other settings where physical distancing cannot be maintained

Preventive actions in all long-term care homes:

  • All residents, staff and essential visitors are screened for symptoms every day, including temperature checks
  • All staff undergo testing for COVID-19 every two weeks
  • Visitor limits are in place, with physical distancing and/or PPE required for all visits
  • All staff and essential visitors wear masks
  • Any resident who develops symptoms is immediately tested for COVID-19
