As of April 1, 2026 Algoma Public Health will no longer offer travel health services including travel consults and immunizations in order to focus on the mandated services of the Ontario Public Health Standards. We will honour appointments already booked. We continue to provide vaccines included in the publicly funded immunization schedule for Ontario. If you don't meet the eligibility criteria, some of these vaccines may still be available for purchase. Many travel vaccines are now available at travel health clinics and pharmacies across Ontario, or through your health care provider.

There are steps you can take to avoid getting sick while travelling! Review the information on this page, learn about your destination, and recognize the potential risks related to it.

Travelling outside of Canada? You may need certain vaccines and/or medications before you travel to reduce your risk of getting sick! Go to the Government of Canada’s Travel vaccinations website and enter in your destination to see which pre-travel vaccines and medications are recommended. For more information on travel vaccines and travel advisories visit Trip Prep or the Government of Canada Travel Advice and Advisories.

It is important to visit a health care professional or a travel health clinic two to three months before you travel to review your vaccination history and assess your health care and immunization needs.
