We are reporting nineteen (19) new cases of COVID-19 (#1,638 - #1,656):
- 15 - Sault Ste. Marie & Area
- 4 - Central and East Algoma
The newly reported cases acquired their infection as follows:
- 1 - close contact of a confirmed case
- 5 - unknown source of infection
- 13 - under investigation
There are currently 227 active cases.

Passengers who sat in rows 8-12 and flight crew who served these rows should follow the below actions.
Actions to take:
Any individual who was present on the date and times listed in the potential high-risk exposure is asked to:
- Regardless of vaccination status, get tested for COVID-19 as soon as possible.
- If you are vaccinated, self-monitor for signs and symptoms.
- If you are not vaccinated, self-isolate immediately
Additional Information Regarding Omicron:
Although the Omicron variant has not yet been confirmed in Algoma, a number of current exposures are suspected and presumed to be due to this variant of concern, due to initial lab screening results, a history of travel, or links to known Omicron exposures in other areas of the province.
