Algoma Public Health is reporting thirty-three (33) new cases of COVID-19 (#1,407 – 1,439), and a low-risk public exposure

We are reporting thirty-three (33) new cases of COVID-19 (#1,407 – 1,439)

• 32 – Sault Ste. Marie & Area
• 1 – Central and East Algoma

The newly reported cases acquired their infection as follows:

• 11 - close contact of a confirmed case
• 5 - unknown source of infection
• 3 - international travel
• 14 - under investigation

There are currently 263 active cases.

Actions to take:

 

Any individual who was present on the date and times listed in the potential low-risk exposure is asked to:

• Self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 for 10 days from potential exposure.
• Self-isolate immediately if symptoms develop.
• Seek testing if symptoms occur.
