Algoma Public Health is reporting twenty (20) new cases of COVID-19 (#1,596 - #1,615) and three potential public exposures

We are reporting twenty (20) new cases of COVID-19 (#1,596 - #1,615):

  • 15 – Sault Ste. Marie & Area
  • 5 – Central and East Algoma

 

The newly reported cases acquired their infection as follows:

  • 10 - close contact of a confirmed case
  • 1 - unknown source of infection
  • 1 - international travel
  • 8 - under investigation


There are currently 247 active cases.

Actions to take:

 

Any individual who was present on the date and times listed in the potential high-risk exposure is asked to:

  1. Regardless of vaccination status, get tested for COVID-19 as soon as possible. 
  2. If you are vaccinated, self-monitor for signs and symptoms.
  3. If you are not vaccinated, self-isolate immediately
