Algoma Public Health is reporting twenty-four (24) new cases of COVID-19 (#1,572 - #1,595) and 18th death related to COVID-19

We are reporting twenty-four (24) new cases of COVID-19 (#1,572 - #1,595):

 

• 19 – Sault Ste. Marie & Area
• 5 – Central and East Algoma

 

It is with great sadness that today we are reporting the region’s 18^th death related to COVID-19. Out of respect for the family, no further information is being shared.

 

The newly reported cases acquired their infection as follows:

 

• 11 - close contact of a confirmed case
• 1 - unknown source of infection
• 1 – international travel
• 11 - under investigation

There are currently 257 active cases.
