The Gender Unicorn

Below are some common terms to be aware of. Please note that terms and definitions will change over time as changes in thinking and attitudes towards vocabulary about sexual orientation and gender identity happen. These terms and definitions are not standardized and may be used differently by different people and in different regions.

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for trans and non-binary people in Ontario is no longer a specialty area. If you are thinking about starting hormonal therapy talk to your Health Care Provider or contact Rainbow Health Ontario to find a Health Care Provider.
