Owners and operators of personal service settings in Algoma must provide written notification to Algoma Public Health at least 14 days before: 

• opening a new personal service setting;
• changing the location of an existing personal service setting; 
• starting the renovation or reconstruction of an existing personal service setting, or;
• providing additional services in an existing personal service setting

Temporary service permits are required if you intend to offer a personal service to clients outside of your regular inspected facility.  This includes but is not limited to fairs, festivals and charity events in the Algoma district.

A Vendor Application must be submitted 14 days prior to an event.

An Organizer Application must be submitted 4 weeks prior to an event for larger scale community special events.

All services must be approved by APH.  Vendors and organizers must comply with the Personal Service Settings Special Event Guidelines.

“Every operator of a personal service setting shall undertake any health and safety training related to personal service setting operation and maintenance, including training in relevant practices that can prevent or reduce the risk of disease transmission at the setting if required by a medical officer of health or public health inspector to do so.” (Ontario Regulation 136/18 Sec 13)
