Public advisory on nicotine pouches:

Nicotine pouches are a new product being targeted to youth. Nicotine is highly addictive and harmful to the developing brain. Anyone under the age of 18 should not use nicotine pouches.

 

It is important to have conversations with youth about nicotine pouches and other nicotine products. For more information, see Health Canada’s public advisory.

Commercial tobacco continues to be the leading cause of preventable death in Canada. Tobacco products contain nicotine, which is a substance that makes them highly addictive. Nicotine can also be found in vaping products and increases the risks of further nicotine addiction in youth and young adults.
